Ed Gebhart, pastor since 2023, is enrolled in seminary at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he plans to complete his Master of Divinity degree in the Spring of 2026. He is ordained as a deacon with The Global Methodist Church.
Lisa is employed as a teacher’s aide at Northwest Local Schools. She and Ed have two daughters. Autumn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University with plans to become a social worker. She also works for Community Health Alliance in Hamilton. Her sister, Amanda, is a sophomore majoring in psychology at Miami University.
Ed is a lifelong Methodist who heard a calling into pastoral ministry several years ago while attending Lindenwald Community Church in Hamilton, Ohio. He enjoys helping people grow closer to God through the Word, worship, and witness.
One of Ed’s favorite Scripture passages is Matthew 16:26, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” Too often we spend our time chasing after the things that will cause us to lose our soul. Instead, we should focus on the things that will help us to save it. The is Ed’s vision for the people of North Bend Methodist Church, that we will focus our attention on God, the lover and sustainer of our soul.
Ed enjoys spending time with his family, especially when they get a chance to get away on vacation. His favorite places to vacation are the mountains and the beach. These are the places where he feels most in touch with God and the vastness of His creation. In his spare time, Ed enjoys being a sports fan, especially of his favorite teams. Other hobbies include reading and playing card/board games.
Zane and Ashley-May Burkhardt relocated from Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 2023 when Ashley-May was accepted to the Master’s of Music in Piano Performance program at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. While continuing her education, she also is employed as our church's choir director and music accompanist.
Zane holds a degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. The son of a pastor, he served as a youth minister at his previous church, First Methodist Church in Clinton, North Carolina. With an extensive background in theatre, he now works as a Creative Team Leader at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy’s theatre department.
Together, Ashley-May and Zane began a Bible Study for Young Adults in July 2024. Their goal was to foster a sense of community among young adults in the North Bend area as well as help them navigate their beliefs amidst the varying challenges presented during young adulthood.
Zane and Ashley-May live in Northern Kentucky and enjoy the company of their two dogs, Chewie and Leia.
While not paid staff, the members of our leadership team are no less important and form the core of our church community.
