Ed Gebhart, pastor since 2023, is enrolled in seminary at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he plans to earn a Master of Divinity degree.
He is a lifelong Methodist who attended Lindenwald Community Church in Hamilton, Ohio, for 16 years before accepting his post with North Bend. Several years ago -- while his wife, Lisa, was the Children and Youth Director there -- Ed felt the call to help in Lisa's work with the youth. This proved to be a blessing to Ed and a steppingstone toward his call to pastoral ministry.
Lisa is employed as a teacher’s aid at Hamilton City Schools. She and Ed have two daughters. Autumn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University with plans to become a social worker. She also works for Community Health Alliance in Hamilton. Her sister, Amanda, is a freshman majoring in psychology at Miami University.
In his spare time, Ed enjoys watching baseball, especially the Reds, and college football, especially Ohio State. He also is a Bengals fan, though that's sometimes been painful. Other hobbies include reading and playing cards.
His favorite places to vacation are the beach and the mountains, as they are where he feels close to God and enjoys His creation.
Zane and Ashley-May Burkhardt relocated from Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 2023 when Ashley-May was accepted to the Master’s of Music in Piano Performance program at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. While continuing her education, she also is employed as our church's choir director and music accompanist.
Zane holds a degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. The son of a pastor, he served as a youth minister at his previous church, First Methodist Church in Clinton, North Carolina. With an extensive background in theatre, he now works as a Creative Team Leader at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy’s theatre department.
Together, Ashley-May and Zane began a Bible Study for Young Adults in July 2024. Their goal was to foster a sense of community among young adults in the North Bend area as well as help them navigate their beliefs amidst the varying challenges presented during young adulthood.
Zane and Ashley-May live in Northern Kentucky and enjoy the company of their two dogs, Chewie and Leia.
While not paid staff, the members of our leadership team are no less important and form the core of our church community.
